A different technique was used to shape the leading edge for the wing and can also be applied to the elevator. It is easier to shape the leading edge if the horizontal ribs include the leading edge shape and foam blocks are bonded between them. These are then sanded to shape with a straight sanding board.

The elevator ribs are cut out using the following template: HORZLEADEDGE_XSEC

Use the holes to align these with the rib templates. Cut them out and mark a center line on both sides and across the front. It is this line that is used to true up the ribs when bonding the foam block in between.
